Sales Tax Update For Colorado

Hi Everyone!

After seeing a demo of the Colorado state tax system I may be able to figure out a way to continue selling to my Colorado customers. Unfortunately only 7 home rule cities have joined the program which makes things more difficult, but at least we now have a free resource to let us know how much sales taxes to charge and what needs to be done to comply with that city or county tax code. At this point I don’t know when things will go live, but when that happens I will post here again. For now the plan is (once the system goes live) to have all Colorado customers choose a “request custom invoice” option before paying for their order. Then I can check the system to verify what sales taxes need to be charged and how to pay them. The final invoice will include those taxes. Does that make sense? I will post again here when I know more.

Thank you for your patience

Part Restock & New Stuff!

Hey Everyone!

Parts arrived from Italy this week.  Woo Hoo!!  I have restocked many of the basic centerpieces like the Miraculous medal, Lourdes & Fatima water centers and Mary with Baby Jesus.  I have also restocked my traditional angular crucifix, relic crucifix, large filigree among a few others.  The supplier sent me the stamped version of the tear drop sunburst crucifix instead of the one with the separately attached Corpus, so I will be taking new pictures and adding that one as an option to the existing listing until the few of the old style are sold out.  OK?  I also have a new Fatima center with dirt from Fatima instead of water, a larger Miraculous medal and a new simple crucifix that will be added soon.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Keep checking back over the next week for the new additions.

Take care,

Rosary Part Size Updates

HI Everyone!

I have decided to update the sizing on all of my rosary parts. Initially I used the sizing from the suppliers, but it’s always bothered me how some include the ring(s) and some don’t.  In order to make things more uniform, I am in the process of updating sizes so they include the entire centerpiece or crucifix, ring(s) and all. If you ever need an exact number on any of my parts not including the rings used for attachment, just ask through the item page and I can get those numbers for you. OK?  I’m hoping to have the listings with new pictures updated in the next couple of weeks or so.  Then I will update the rest of the listings as I update their pictures. Please holler if you have questions.

Take care and Stay Healthy 🙂

Ordering Parts Soon!

Hi rosary makers!!  I am preparing to order parts from Italy within the next 2-3 weeks. If you need anything, please let me know so I can add it to my list. These will be my less expensive parts, so the newer and fancier parts won’t be included. OK? If you have questions please let me know.

Take care and Stay Healthy!

New Rosary Part Listing & Labeling

Hi Everyone!

Recently I was made aware of some confusion about the labeling of my Italian rosary parts.  For years the information I’ve had came directly from the manufacturers or my suppliers, but now I see that for those who specialize in jewelry and not rosaries, the labeling can be a bit confusing.

Here are the basics.  Most Italian rosary parts are made from zamak which is a mix of metals including zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper, but the exact recipe can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.  For example, two of my suppliers have mentioned including small amounts of silver either as a “flash” plating or as a part of their general recipe. It seems like every manufacturer does something different and I’ve never paid to have any of my parts tested to see for sure who is doing what. 🙂

The one thing I know for sure is that NONE of my Italian rosary parts are plated with sterling silver or 14k gold.  Those precious metals are very, very expensive and would raise the cost substantially.  Affordability, durability and variety are what make Italian rosary parts so popular, but sterling silver or 14K gold they are not.

This recent confusion is why I’ve decided to change the wording in my store from silver plate and gold plate (for Italian parts), to silver and gold toned base metal.  The parts you’ve loved for years are still the same.  It’s just the labeling that is changing.

In the 17 years I’ve been in business I’ve never had this issue come up before, but I think it’s a good idea to make the changes in order to avoid any other confusion in the future. 🙂

As you know, I am currently in the process of retaking pictures, and doing other edits as part of the new store layout, so this change will be a part of that process. I’m not sure how long it will take, but hopefully in the next couple of months or so I can get the website updated.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. OK?

Thank you for your patience during all of this new website and update stuff!  It is truly appreciated!

thumbs up

New Pictures Coming Soon!

I’m finally in the process of updating pictures. YAY! If you are looking at an item and the picture is missing, just wait a minute or two and it will pop back up. It just means I’m in the process of adding the new images to the listing.

As before the images will be color coded to help make browsing easier. Italian silver plate parts will have a blue background. Gold plated parts will have a pink background. Sterling silver will have either a purple background or a purple bar across (I’m not sure which yet :)).  American made pewter will either be white background or another color. I’m still working on those. 🙂

As usual, if you have any questions, please let me know.
